Joo Jang Mi is a twenty-nine-year-old who works at a department store for a living. She dreams of finding true love and getting married. It’s really one of her biggest aspirations. Of course, there is much more to Jang Mi that being a hopeless romantic and dreamer.
Do you like romantic comedy’s? How about an addictive OST (original soundtrack) that you find yourself humming and singing randomly throughout they day? Do you like a great, realistic story with a likable female and male lead?
If you answer yes to any of those questions, I highly recommend Marriage, Not Dating. It was the most fun I’ve ever had watching a k-drama. It’s possible I could be getting ahead of myself already, but this drama is easily my favorite new drama of 2014. I might even go as far as to say the best we’ve seen in 2014, but that varies based upon personal preference and taste. I’m actually bummed that I started this drama late and couldn’t review it week-to-week — that’s honestly how much I loved it and looked forward to it.
Nonetheless, if you’re looking for a new k-drama to binge-watch, all sixteen episodes are currently available to stream on Viki. Watch episode one here.
And here’s a sweet little parting word for those of you who have watched the series: Nemo.
It’s probably no surprise to anyone who reads this blog that I binge-watch a lot of k-dramas. And by a lot, I mean a lot. As in (probably) unhealthy kind of a lot. My attention span has been all over the place lately as I’m watching dramas far faster than I can review them. This blog is my fun, little safe haven to share my k-drama love, so I’ll try to do that the best way that I can — even if it means some of my reviews might be slightly delayed.
I’m way behind schedule, which is likely to be the story of my life as I practice more self-control in my consumption of k-dramas. Until then, please bear with me. I’m always tinkering away with drafts of reviews and upcoming posts and ways to make this place a well-oiled machine, so this blog has constant attention. Rest assured, I will get better at this with time. Please just hang in there with me as I get my bearings and figure of a system that works for me.
That said, the purpose of this post is to talk about what currently airing k-dramas we’re all watching right now. If you peek at my twitter feed, you’ll probably already know one of the dramas.
High School King (just started), High School: Love On, and Marriage, Not Dating. The latter being my absolute favorite. It reminds me a little bit of Lie To Me, so if you were a huge fan of that drama, you really might find something funny, charming, and magical about Marriage, Not Dating. High School: Love On is off to a fairly strong start after two episodes, and I’m hoping it keeps up the momentum. As for High School King, I’ve only had time to watch one full episode. I don’t have any problems with Noona romances, but I’m not entirely sold on the female lead — although I can relate to her in a lot of ways. So, I’m definitely on the fence with two of the three series, but I’m having a whole lot of fun with Marriage, Not Dating as it’s a lighter departure from some of the melodramas out there right now.
There are tons of currently airing shows right now. What are you guys watching and how do you like them? I created a poll below and you can choose any many options as you like. Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you love or hate about any of these dramas.
