10 Reasons Why You Should Be Watching Dolce Amore

  1. The Lizquen loveteam. That’s Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil for those of you that aren’t familiar. What they bring to the table: realistic emotions, staggering chemistry, and a comfortableness between each other.
  2. This drama is packed full of Filipino love and culture. As an international fan of this series, we have the opportunity to learn more about culture and history thanks to Serena (Liza Soberano).
  3. Everything important is in Dolce Amore: family values and relationships, dysfunctional and disconnected/separated families, true friendship, achievement through hard word, monetary hardship, and more.
  4. The scenery! Whether it’s an exotic location or not, it’s always fun and interesting to see what different places in the Philippines actually look like.
  5. The inclusion of Italian. It’s one thing for the characters to live in Italy, but it’s a bonus that the characters are actually speaking the language. Even better — most of these characters are at least bilingual.
  6. Episodes air every day from Monday to Friday, so that’s a healthy dose of Lizquen during the working week. And this method helps keep the events of the series fresher on the mind.
  7. Each episode is a manageable 20+ minutes. They are always under 30 and always over 20. This means it’s much easier to binge-watch. Score!
  8. I have to admit, the plot is fantastic and gripping. The concept itself isn’t something we’ve never heard of before, but it’s a well-written story that tugs at the heart. The writing is clean and cohesive.
  9. The lovely people at TFC subtitle every, single episode in English. So for anyone that doesn’t speak Tagalog or doesn’t speak it fluently, this is a huge bonus to enjoy the show.
  10. Most of all, my favorite thing about Dolce Amore, is that Serena and Tenten develop a strong bond of friendship. It’s really touching to watch their journey as they learn more about each other and forge lasting friendships. This is primarily the focus of the drama, and I find it to be one of the most special aspects of this series.

I’m aware that some of these reasons are vague, but I tried to keep any “spoilers” to a minimum. I am absolutely in love with this show. I’m not sure what I was expecting when I first read the synopsis a few months back, but what I’m seeing on screen in so much better than what I had in my head.

So… what do you think? Will you be watching Dolce Amore? Are you watching it now? Would you recommend it to your friends?
