10 Reasons Why You Should Be Watching Tomorrow’s Cantabile

Disclaimer: some of the reasons I’ve listed in the link below may contain spoilery information. Please keep that in mind before you carry on.

  1. It is based off of a manga entitled Nodame Cantabile.
  2. While playing a character that is quirky and sometimes a little bit too eccentric, Shim Eun Kyung still manages to make Nae Il grounded, humbled, and likable. Nae Il is a character that takes a little time to understand, but once you do, it’s hard not to take a shining to her.
  3. If you like a good drama about music, you’ve come to the right place. Tomorrow’s Cantabile takes place on a classical music campus.
  4. It has Witch Ahn from Surplus Princess, who plays a restaurant-owning, son-doting dad in this drama.
  5. While the show may seem silly at times, it makes sure to include some great real life messages.
  6. The characters all feel very geniune and grounded. They have real problems and are struggling to making their dreams a reality. Thanks to some some great characterization and story lines, this series really shows emotional and physical growth quite brilliantly.
  7. One of the things that I especially appreciate is that this drama doesn’t try to be over the top or throw in crazy plot twists for the sake of making things more exciting. The story is consistent and nicely paced.
  8. Joo Won channels the cynical, quiet, emotionally-damaged, musical-prodigy Cha Yoo Jin quite effortlessly.
  9. If you’re looking for a good love/hate and opposites attract style drama, you’ve come to the right place. Even though Yoo Jin and Nae Il have music in common, they have completely different personalities. Yoo Jin is the reserved, no-thrills kind of character while Nae Il is a loud ball of energy. You’ll definitely laugh, cry, and cringe as they interact throughout this drama.
  10. If you prefer your dramas to have more than the typical 16 episodes, Tomorrow’s Cantabile will air 20 episodes. (We’re only up to 14 episodes so far.) So, this means you’ll have four more hours to spend with Yoo Jin, Nae, Il, and the rest of the characters.
